- Biography

Toshiro Sugimura was born in Tokyo, Japan on March 26th 1955. He received his Ph.D. in civil engineering from Nihon University in 1991. He studied photogrammetry at Hassyu Co. Ltd from 1977 to 1980 and remote sensing at Remote Sensing Technology Center of Japan (RESTEC) from 1980 to 2014. He is now a professor of Nihon University. He teaches surveying and remote sensing in department of Civil Engineering, College of Industrial Technology, Nihon University. His research includes remote sensing data processing, education and development of image processing software.

- Membership and Activities

Toshiro Sugimura is a member of the Japan Society of Civil Engineering (JSCE), Remote Sensing Society of Japan (RSSJ), Japan Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing(JSPRS) and Japanese Society of Coastal Forest(JSCF). He received RSSJ Reseacher Award in 1991.
