Takashi Nonaka received his B.Eng. from the Waseda University, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Technology from Tokyo Institute of Technology. He was an employee of PASCO CORPORATION, Tokyo, from 2004 to 2015, and had been assigned to work on various projects related to high-resolution spaceborne SAR, especially TerraSAR-X. During 2005, he was dispatched to National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT) from PASCO to study InSAR utilizing X-band airborne SAR. Since 2006, he was involved in the development of TerraSAR-X applications and value-added products. Further, he was responsible for the mission operation and ground system of the earth observation satellites in the company from 2010 to 2014. Presently he is working at the College of Industrial Technology after joining the Nihon University in 2015.

Takashi Nonaka is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), and member of Remote Sensing of Japan (RSSJ), Japan Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (JSPRS), Japan Society of Civil Engineering (JSCE), Japan Geoscience Union (JGU), and Japan Society of Infrared Science and Technology (JSIR). He received RSSJ Young Researcher Award in 2015.
